It's that time of year when things like the car insurance needs renewing; and Mrs Kate who is super-efficient with the home finances had this in-hand, duly challenging the exhorbetent fee the current company wanted to charge for my moderate 2 seater girlie car.
Now, for the last couple of years, Mrs Kate has confused many a T-girl she emails by using an email name/address that's very similar to what I use; she even confused me it (just the once!) - I wondered how I managed to send myself an email before realising it was her trully who had had sent it.
Anyway, back to the renewing the car insurance.... in order for the company to accept the instruction, Mrs Kate has to pose as Bob (unique eh? ... someone posing as an alternative gender!)... and in doing this duly sent a copy (CC) email to Bob's actual formal email address in order to keep me in the picture.
As unintended as it was, this resulted in a formal email from the company acknowledging the change in our requirements identifying 'Bob' by name, with a To: address of KateKat and included a CC: to Bob@hisformalISP.com (doh!).
It's not silly or obsessive to keep profiles and worlds separate - but helps avoid the potential for embarrasing situations inadvertently arising.....
.... which lead me to think if there ought to be an annual award for most inadvertent/innocent 'outing'.... any ideas on what we might want to call such an award? .... just joking - honest!.... 'course such an award would need to disqualify any deliberate attempts to be outed!... know of any nominations?.... (rolls eyes!)
Oh... and Happy New Year to all those special girls and their long-suffering supporting partners! xxx
